Just Do It

I saw a commercial this past weekend in anticipation of the Super Bowl, and the commercial was for a new Nike football product. I think it was for new gloves but I could be remembering wrong. Anyway, at the end of the commercial they flash that signature phrase across the screen.
You know the one, “Just Do It”.
It’s become one of the most recognizable and prominent slogans probably in marketing history since its origins in 1988. In fact, when Nike employee Dan Wieden presented the idea of the “Just Do It” catch phrase, everyone hated it and it got shot down by the company.
So anyway, at the end of this commercial the phrase “Just Do It” flashes across the screen, and I realized how applicable that simple saying is in everyday life.
I mean it’s probably stared many of us in the face over the years, but those three words carry an exceptional message and a profound impact for our business. One that I want to reiterate today.
We’re into February now, and it may sound repetitive from last month, but I’m going to once again emphasize the fact that when it comes to improving your culture and your organization:
Just Do It!
And once again, I know that may sound repetitive, but let this serve as your second reminder now to stay on course in regards to the goals that you set for the year, and the changes you want to make.
Like I said before, we’re into February now, that means we’re almost done with the first quarter of the year.
So if you’ve been doing well at keeping up with your goals and adjustments for this year – good!
If you haven’t, or if you’ve begun to sort of stray away from the path that you want to hold yourself to then in the words of Nike:
Just do it.
No excuses.
