So You Know Your Culture Sucks, Now What?

The Culture Junky
You may know your culture flat out sucks, and recognize that you need to make a change, however you have no vision for it. The vision is arguably just as important as your plan for developing the culture because quite frankly, they go hand in hand.
The age of personal computers brought on by Apple wouldn’t have been possible without the vision provided by Steve Jobs. Along the way, the continued vision as things evolved was ultimately a big part of what pushed Apple to be the tech giants they are today.
Recognizing the need for a culture shift is something that certainly is an important aspect, but without the vision for where you want it to go, it won’t equate to much
You have to look within yourself as a leader first, and single out your values as a person and as a businessperson. You want your vision for your culture to align with your values.
Similarly, you want the people who are apart of your team to share similar values and qualities. It’s part of what helps to create a strong bond within the team when when everyone is on the same page.
If you’re trying to create a culture that encourages collaboration for the sake of group development, someone who shies away from ever collaborating and helping fellow members in favor of cutthroat competition in the workplace is probably not someone who aligns with the values of the culture you’re trying to establish.
Not everyone is a visionary, and sometimes it takes an outside perspective to help that vision begin to take shape.
If you’re struggling with that preliminary step, I’m just an email away.
Let’s work together on it and figure out where your culture is going.
